Shirley Fagan Announces Retirement as Communications Director Effective June 30, 2025

Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, and an alumna of the University of Alabama, Shirley began her career at O’Neal Steel as a Product Specialist. Her journey soon led her to the marketing department, where she took on a variety of responsibilities until 2008, the year O’Neal Industries was established. Recognized for her exceptional talents, she was invited to join the new organization and subsequently appointed Director of Communications in 2011. From that moment onward, she has passionately dedicated herself to safeguarding and elevating the reputation of O’Neal Industries and its family of companies, ensuring the corporate image resonates profoundly with employees, customers, and in the communities in which we live and work.

 

Shirley’s influence extends far beyond her professional role. As a philanthropic liaison for the company, she has actively championed community engagement. Her commitment is evident in her board service with organizations such as Better Basics and Jones Valley Teaching Farm, as well as her current role on the Community Impact committee of the United Way of Central Alabama. Furthermore, she has enriched her leadership acumen through participation in the Momentum Leaders for Women’s executive program.

 

Shirley’s steadfast dedication and transformative contributions have left an enduring legacy at O’Neal Industries and within the community.
